SGI Terms of Use.
1. SGI Terms of Use (The Advocacy Shield)
Section 1: General Purpose
The Sentient Guardian Initiative (SGI) is an independent advocacy platform. Our materials are provided for the purposes of Compassionate Conservation, educational awareness, and legal advocacy. We provide resources to protect the Sentient Guard (naturalised felines) from profit-driven eradication and environmental pollution.
Section 2: Intellectual Property & Advocacy Usage
All SGI Library files—including Fact Files, Legislative Alerts, and Forensic Deconstructions—are the property of the SGI.
-
Permitted Use: You are encouraged to download, share, and cite these files in communications with local councils, the Department of Conservation (DOC), and community groups.
-
Prohibited Use: You may not alter the SGI headers, logos, or footers. The materials may not be used for commercial profit or to promote any form of lethal animal management.
Section 3: Independent Agency & Alignment
The SGI is an independent initiative. While the SGI Founder is a member of the Animal Justice Party NZ, the SGI is not an official organ of the party. Our content is aligned with the principles of Compassionate Conservation and the AJP welfare platform, but the SGI operates as an autonomous voice for the voiceless.
Section 4: No Liability for 'Shadow Work'
The SGI provides the Identity Shield (Microchipping and Registration) as a legal tool. However, the SGI is not responsible for the physical actions of independent rescuers or guardians in the field. Volunteers are responsible for ensuring their actions comply with the Animal Welfare Act 1999 and local bylaws.
Section 5: Accuracy of the Archive
We strive for Infallible Science. Our library focuses on peer-reviewed global data to counter the "Grey Literature" of the extermination industry. However, the SGI is not liable for changes in government policy (such as the March 2026 updates) that may alter the legal status of the resident feline population.
